THE FUTURE OF THE COMMUNITY CENTRE<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are looking for a few more Roberttowners to get involved and help us with the running \u00a0of this well used and much loved village building. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

All we ask is 2 hours of your time every two months. We meet on Thursday evenings in the centre lounge at 7pm, on the dates shown here \u00a0<\/p>\n

If you’d like to get involved please get in touch, or just come along to the next meeting<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Committee organise fundraising events throughout the year, and by supporting these events you are helping us to keep the building in good condition, and available for use by the many groups and individuals who hire it.<\/p>\n

The Committee is always pleased to hear from anyone willing to help us out at our events, for example selling raffle tickets. Please leave your details on our ‘contact us<\/a>‘ page or come along to our next meeting – dates are shown on the left.<\/p>\n

Calling Local Tradespeople<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The Community Centre is a privately owned building, and as such it is NOT maintained by Kirklees, meaning that any repairs have to be paid for out of the money received from rental and fundraising income.<\/p>\n

We have a ‘Skills Register’ of local tradespeople who we call when we need work doing – Joiners, Electricians, Plumbers, Roofers etc.<\/p>\n

If you would like to be on the register, please send us your contact details via the ‘contact us<\/a>‘ page, with a brief message.<\/p>\n

We will also pass your details on to the various groups who use the Centre<\/p>\n\n\n

The main hall has finally had the revamp that we’ve been planning since before lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It now has a fresh new feel that is in keeping with the age of the building, but still contemporary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work has been possible thanks to donations over the last few years from Bobtown Beer Bash, Roberttown Players and Liversedge Half Marathon, plus grants from Kirklees Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Community Centre is owned by the people of Roberttown and is a registered charity. It is managed by Roberttown Youth & Community Association (RYCA), a committee of Trustees made up of village residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All village residents are entitled to attend the meetings and will be made very welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
